No Hassle Fundraiser: 1 More Day

Dear Doss Owls and Other Supportive Community Members,

Thank you to the many families who have already donated towards the No Hassle Fundraiser. We appreciate your donations and desire to support our Parent Teacher Association.

The deadline for this fundraiser is this Friday, October 5th!

In order to meet our needs for the 2012-2013 school year, our fundraising goal is $52,000. We are not there yet. To date, we have raised almost $27,000 of our $52,000 goal. The next three days are crucial to the future of many of the programs that we have all come to expect and appreciate.

We encourage you to view a list of programs that Doss PTA supports. If you are planning to contribute but haven’t done so yet, we ask that you get your donations in as soon as possible.

If we are unable to reach our fundraising goal, the Budget Committee will meet and reassess the budget allowances for each program supported by the PTA. The proposed budget will then be presented to the general PTA membership at the October 11th PTA meeting to be voted on and approved. Changes to Doss programming will begin to take place immediately following the approval of the 2012-2013 budget.

We understand that economic situations vary from year to year for each of our Doss families. In a similar fashion, PTA programming may need to vary yearly as well. Plans will be reviewed after each Doss fundraiser. For now, Please know that 100% of your contribution will go directly towards enriching our educational environment, classroom and staff support, and community building.

To make a donation, donate now in full online, make payment installments online or leave your check in the PTA office.

Corporate matching is available through Dell, National Instruments, Apple and AMD. Also, please encourage grandparents and other family members to make a donation as well.

Doss is perennially ranked one of the top schools in Austin thanks in no small part to your generous contributions to the PTA.

Every dollar helps.  Please consider donating what you can so we can continue our tradition of excellence.

Volunteer Opportunities at Doss!

One of the things that make Doss a GREAT school is our amazing PTA and all the many opportunities for parent involvement. Each of the committees needs parent volunteers to get the job done. In this packet there are volunteer opportunities that will meet every personality type and every time or schedule constraint.

There’s something for everyone! Committees are combined into 4 categories: Year round volunteers, Fall Volunteers, Spring Volunteers and those committees that are set with Volunteers. Please see the Volunteer Opportunities page to sign up!

Catfish and fun for you! Money for Doss!

Head out to Catfish Parlour next Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 5 – 7pm for Doss night.

20% of ALL proceeds (even to-go orders) go back to Doss. Last year Catfish Parlour donated $1250 back to Doss from our Doss dinner nights!

Can we beat that figure this year? They have grilled items and salads as well as their famous catfish & hush puppies! See you next Wednesday at the Catfish Parlour, North Austin location: see you there!
