Welcome to Doss Elementary! Whether you are just beginning your journey here, or have been an Owl for some time, I hope that you will enjoy our school and feel welcome here.
Doss is a school of approximately 680 students in grades PreK-5. We have students who speak 22 different languages at home — we love our cultural diversity! Doss students achieve at very high levels and love learning new things.
The PreK program in AISD is for students who are age 4 on or before September 1 of the school year. Students must qualify for the PreK program as a student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch or as a student with limited English proficiency. PreK classes are from 8:00-2:15 each day.
Kindergarten students must be age 5 on or before September 1 of the school year. Kindergarten as well as students in grades 1-5 attend school from 8:00-3:00 each day. We ask that students arrive as close to 7:45 as possible to allow them to settle in and start the day on a great note.
The Doss PTA is an amazing organization that supports the school in so many ways. Please do not wait to be asked to volunteer or get involved. Ask how you can help and we will find a way to put your talents to use.
Doss is a special place! I hope that you will become involved in the life of the school, working on PTA committees, helping your child with homework, and getting to know the fabulous students, teachers, and parents here.
Again, welcome! We look forward to working with you and your child. Please drop by, introduce yourself to me more than once, and let me know if there are ways that I can help you.
