Janna Griffin

I have always wanted to be an educator. I grew up in a small town in west Texas and my teachers played a key role in shaping, encouraging and supporting me. I remember riding my bike all around the school in the summer, peeking through the school windows, and daydreaming about my new teacher. Now, as principal, I still get excited about the start of a new school year.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and my Master’s degree from University of North Texas. After living and working in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for about 15 years, my partner and I moved to Austin, Texas. We now have three kids and live in the NW Hills area.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and playing guitar.

I am currently in my 24th year of being an educator and my 5th year of being principal at Doss Elementary. I live in the community with my partner and three kids.
