Principal Sheridan Newsletter 10/20/24

Good morning Doss Families –

Last week was the conclusion of the first 9 week grading period of the school year and parent teacher conferences. I hope you found your conference to be informative of where your student is and where we are hoping to go both academically and social-emotionally. If you have any further questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Wednesday, October 23rd is the Anderson Homecoming Parade. The parade begins at 6:30pm and the theme this year is Party in the USA. This year they added more fun with food trucks and games as well. Come out and support the Anderson Vertical Team and enjoy the homecoming parade.

Doss H’OWL is this weekend, Sunday, October 27th!  For those new to Doss, this is our fall carnival and an awesome community-building tradition.  Be sure to plan to attend and volunteer in your child’s classroom booth (every class is assigned a booth to run). If you have any questions, please contact the Doss PTA.  It’s a Doss family affair, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

With election season upon us, Austin ISD has a proposition on the ballot. Austin ISD Prop A information can be found HERE. If you have further questions, I am happy to try to answer them or you can reach out to Austin ISD directly through the link on the flyer.

A refresher about dismissal – Northledge Dr. is NOT a through street during dismissal. When cars are driving down Northledge Dr. and picking up students, double and triple parking, it creates a huge back up in the official carline that is actively working to get students out of school safely.

SEL word of the month is RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility means taking action and understanding the impact of our choices. This can mean lots of things, but mostly it’s about choosing actions that lead to good outcomes.

Have a great week –
