Principal Sheridan Newsletter 11/16/25

Good morning Doss Families –

What an incredibly talented and caring community we have! This week was truly heartwarming as we came together to honor our Veterans, celebrate our 5th graders’ amazing performance in Junie B. Jones the Musical, and promote wellness through our 2nd Annual Doss Turkey Trot. I am filled with GRATITUDE for our dedicated staff, students, and the entire Doss community. A special thank-you to all the volunteers who helped make the Book Fair a success and supported the 5th grade musical – your contributions made this week truly unforgettable!

Have you heard about the Doss Science Fair? The Doss Science Fair is January 12, 2026 and it is a cool way for students to learn about the Scientific Method. Participation in the Science Fair is optional for 2rd–5th grade students, except for students enrolled in the 4th or 5th grade GT program, for whom it is mandatory. Doss Science Fair information is found HERE

Doss Grandparents Day / Thanksgiving Lunch is Thursday, November 20th  – A great way for the school community to come together and share a meal during your student’s lunchtime. Please arrive 30 minutes early to ensure you are able to get checked in and arrive at lunch on time. As you join your children for this special lunch, please sit at the designated visitor tables so we do not disturb the class’s assigned tables.

With many Austin ISD students living in food-insecure households, accessing healthy food may be challenging when the district is closed. Families can use the community resources below to find free meals in their area while Austin ISD offices and schools are closed for the fall break:

Have a wonderful weekend –
