Good morning Doss Families –
What a fantastic first week at Doss Elementary! The students seem happy, settled into their routines, and eager to learn, though they were a bit tired by Friday.
At Doss, our core values are Safety, Respect, and Responsibility. You’ll see these expectations prominently displayed around the campus. We encourage you to use this language at home as well, as it reinforces the school-home partnership.
Thank you for your patience during dismissal this week. As we adjust to new pickup areas and routines, the process may take a bit longer for the first week or two. Please remember to stay in your car; a staff member will escort your child to you and open the car door. We appreciate your cooperation in respecting the no driving down Northledge Dr. during dismissal this year. DISMISSAL MAP Also, please notify your child’s teacher if they have a sibling for after school pick up. The older sibling(s) will meet the younger sibling at their outside dismissal area at 3:10.
Austin ISD is excited to participate in College Colors Day, scheduled for Friday, August 30th, 2024. Across the United States, students, parents, family, faculty, fans, and alumni celebrate College Colors Day every year on the Friday before Labor Day. This year, it takes place on August 30th. Doss Owls will show spirit and school pride by wearing college colors and/or apparel.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend Doss Back to School Nights. Due to our enrollment and limited parking around campus, we separate Back to School Nights into two days. Each night the event will start at 5:30pm and will consist of two sessions: the first session from 5:30 – 6:10, and the second session from 6:15 – 6:55pm. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers, learn about the curriculum, and ask questions.
