Principal Sheridan Newsletter 8/4/24

Good morning Doss Families,

I hope you enjoyed your summer. This summer, I was delighted to have my children home from college and I took quick trips with family and friends to Colorado, California, and Port Aransas. With two weeks until the 2024-2025 school year begins we are focused on preparing our classrooms, teachers, and staff for supporting your children so they may reach their full potential. We can’t wait to welcome our students to campus!

The Doss Cafeteria offers breakfast and lunch daily below are the details for the 24-25 school year. We encourage all families to take advantage of the healthy, tasty meals offered at school. Austin ISD receives money for each meal served; the more meals served at school the more funding our district has to invest in the quality of our food, maintain local jobs, and support the Texas economy.

What is the process to dine at school?

  • Students may simply walk through the cafeteria serving line on any day and select their meal components at breakfast and lunch. Cafeteria staff are available to assist any new or returning students.
  • The cashier will ask the student’s name and/or ID number and debit their account based on their meal status (free, reduced-price, or paid).
  • Students dining with a reduced-price or paid status may purchase meals using cash or funds on their SchoolCafé account. No funds are needed for students with a free meal status, unless they would like to purchase a la carte items.
  • Families may add funds online by creating an account at www.SchoolCafe.com/AustinISD. The cafeteria accepts cash, money orders, or cashiers checks daily from 7 a.m.-2 p.m..
