Good morning Doss Families –
Hope this finds you enjoying a relaxing 3-day weekend. This is a friendly reminder that there will be no school on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
Mark your calendars, we have important informative events coming up this week that I want to bring to your attention. Wednesday, September 4th, and Thursday, September 5th, we will host Back to School Nights.
- Wednesday, September 4th – PK, 1st, and 2nd grades, Ms. Baker & Ms. Leventhal and Ms. Wolff and Ms. Lalla classes
- Thursday, September 5th – 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
These events will begin at 5:30pm and will consist of two sessions: the first session is 5:30 – 6:10, and the second session is 6:15 – 6:55pm. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers, learn about the curriculum, and ask questions.
Additionally, on Friday, September 6th, at 8:00am, we will host our first Parent Principal Coffee of this school year. During this meeting, we will share information about the GT (Gifted and Talented) referral process for the 24-25 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight and ask any questions you may have. We will also share updates about enrollment, attendance policy, and other tidbits.
Safety Updates:
- PE is starting Fitnessgrams and this involves lots of cardio activities. If your child requires an inhaler, insulin, or any other medication that needs to be administered on campus, please make sure Nurse Paula has this medication and doctor’s orders to support.
- Northledge Dr. double-parking during drop-off and dismissal, and blocking our neighbors’ driveways is still happening. Out of respect and safety for our children please follow our expectations and do not double-park on Northledge and allow children to walk between cars and do not block driveways.
We look forward to seeing you at these events and working together to ensure a successful school year for your child. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education.
Have a great weekend –
Principal Sheridan
