School Closure Info – March 16

Below is a summary of what was shared this afternoon via AISD TV and from the state.  As always, please check the AISD COVID-19 webpage for all up-to-date info.

• Schools will be closed March 23-April 3. Additional closures may happen based on information from the city or federal government.
• Staff will be asked to be available March 23 to prepare for distance learning.  I do not know what this looks like at this time, but will share all information as usual.
• Per Governor Abbott, STAAR testing requirements have been waived for the 2019-2020 academic year.
• AISD Food Service is working on a plan to feed students, starting next week, via curbside delivery for children in need for breakfast and lunch.  More information will be shared soon.  If possible, please help me share this information with families in our area that are in need.
