We are excited that you will be joining us for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents of students living in the Doss attendance zone can enter all necessary information online to pre-enroll the student for the 2020-2021 school year.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all registration and submission of documents must be completed online until further notice.
How to register your child to attend Doss?
Gather the following documents you will upload through our encrypted process:
- State issued Birth Certificate (passport if born outside the US)
- Immunizations https://www.austinisd.org/student-health/immunizations
- Social Security Card (for student)
- Parent’s driver’s license
- One of the following (anything else will not be accepted) for proof of residence –
lease, all occupants listed
- Current mortgage statement
- Current City of Austin electric bill
- Custody documents if applicable
Then go to https://www.austinisd.org/enroll.
In addition to completing the online registration and uploading your documents, please fill out and email the forms below to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Please note that your child(ren) is unable to be placed in a class until all steps have been successfully completed and all documentation has been verified. We are not notified of enrollment through the Austin ISD web site, so please email all documents to Pat Minford so we can can follow up. Thank you.

How do I know if Doss is my home school?
Search by address to find out which school your child will attend https://www.austinisd.org
How old does my child have to be to enter Kindergarten?
Your child must be 5 on or before September 1, 2020.
Does Doss offer Pre-K?
Yes. Your child must be 4 on or before September 1, 2020 to be eligible.
Does my child have to be present to register?
You may register online at any time. However, your child is unable to be placed in a class until they are physically in Austin and all required documents are brought to the registrar.
If your student’s registration is not completed by August 7, 2020 we cannot guarantee a class assignment for meet the teacher.
All registrations after this date will be placed in a class prior to the first day of school August 18, 2020

Do I have to live in the Doss zone in order to enroll?
Yes. The school is frozen to all transfers for the 2020 – 2021 school year.
I do not live in the area but work close by. Can my child to attend Doss?
No. AISD policy states that a student shall be assigned to a school in the attendance area in which the student’s parents maintain their domicile.
What is the first day of school?
First day of school is August 18, 2020.

My child’s immunizations are not current. Can my child start school?
Unless a child’s immunizations are current when school begins, your child will not be allowed to attend.

Please have all immunizations transcribed onto a Texas Health Card at a Texas doctor’s office or clinic if entering school from outside the United States. Translations by the parent are unable to be accepted.

Where do I find school supplies?
For information on ordering or purchasing school supplies for the 2020 – 2021 school year please go to https://www.dosspta.org/school/enrollment/school-supplies/.
What will my child do for lunch?
Your child can bring their own lunch or purchase a lunch in the cafeteria.
If your child chooses to purchase lunch, you may enroll online at www.schoolcafe.com or place cash only in an envelope and note your student’s name, amount enclosed, grade and teacher on the envelope. All deposits work like a debit system to their account. Any carryover monies remain in the students account as long as they are in AISD.
Please Note – Students who have never attended Doss elementary will not be able to set up the lunch account prior to the first day of school because the system will not recognize them as a student until they officially begin classes.
How much does it cost to buy a meal at school?
Student breakfast: $1.50
Student lunch: $2.80
Adult breakfast: $2.25
Adult lunch $3.50
Do we meet our child’s teacher before school starts?
Yes, attend the “Meet the Teacher” event TBD.
If I plan to pick up my child instead of having them ride the bus, where do I pick them up?
You will pick up your child in the teacher’s parking lot on Silvercrest Dr on the northwest side of campus.
If I plan to have my child ride the bus, where do they get on and off the bus?
What are Doss school hours?
School starts: first bell 7:30 a.m. Tardy bell 7:45 a.m.
Dismissal: Kindergarten 2:55 p.m., 1st – 5th 3:00 p.m.
I am unable to pick up my child after school. Is there someone that can watch him?
No one is available to watch your child when school dismisses.

Religious Holy Days
Under state law and local policy, students are excused from school attendance for observation of religious holy days, including up to one day of excused travel for traveling to the site where the student will observe the holy days and up to one day of excused travel for traveling from that site. Tex. Educ. Code § 25.087(b); 19 TAC § 129.21(k)(4); FEA(LEGAL).
Please fill out a Holy Day Form for each day your student will be out AFTER the holidays and email it to email@example.com or drop it off in the front office. District does not accept excused notes for future absences.
