Hello! Doss Elementary is an exceptional school within the Austin Independent School District that serves approximately 850 students and has a long tradition of student success both academically and social and emotionally. Doss prides itself on hosting many engaging enrichment programs, having a family centered culture, and even hosts a renowned Dual Language Mandarin Immersion program that continues to our feeder pattern middle school (Murchison MS) and high school (Anderson HS). The Doss campus was modernized in 2020.  While we are in a shiny, new building, we are over 50 years strong and continue many of the same traditions.

I am the substitute principal at Doss after the prior principal, Dr. Nathan Steenport, moved on to Kealing Middle School.  I started my career as an elementary school teacher so it is nice to be back to my roots.  After teaching and serving as a campus administrator in Temple ISD and Round Rock ISD middle schools, I served as Assistant Superintendent at Pflugerville ISD for seven years and then as Associate Superintendent of Middle Schools with Austin ISD for five years.  I retired in 2019 but have come back to serve as substitute principal at Anderson High School and now Doss.

I live in Round Rock with my wife, Dr. Lynn Eaton (a university professor and administrator). We have two sons, Caleb (age 20), who is a junior at Prairie View A&M University (Engineering major/tennis player), and Jonas (age 19), who is a freshman at Austin College (Psychology major/swimmer), and an 85lb Goldendoodle, Rocket. I enjoy traveling, watching all kinds of sporting events, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.

I look forward to assisting the incredible Doss staff until they bring on a permanent principal.

Terrence Eaton, Ph.D.
