Austin ISD Dual Language Program

AISD’s Dual language program is open to all AISD students who are interested in a multilingual academic experience when entering Pre-K (only applies to Riley Elem), Kindergarten or within the first twenty (20) days of first grade, unless a language assessment in the partner language indicates they have the proficiency necessary to participate. 

The three goals of Austin ISD’s dual language program are for students to:

• excel academically in two languages 
• become bilingual and biliterate 
• develop positive cross-cultural competency

Please note: Austin ISD bus transportation is NOT provided to students who choose to transfer to another campus for its dual language program.    

Austin ISD Dual Language Mandarin Chinese Program

Students are taught Chinese literacy and math & science in Mandarin.

Doss’s Dual Language Mandarin Program

Doss Elementary will host information sessions for any prospective 2023-24 Kindergarten families with an interest in the program.

If you are interested in applying for the Doss Elementary Dual Language Program, please attend one of these mandatory information sessions:

Session 1: November 15, 2022 from 12:30-1:00pm in the Doss Community Room

Session 2: December 1, 2022 from 6:00-6:30pm in the Doss Community Room

Session 3: January 12, 2023 from 8:00-8:30am in the Doss Community Room

Doss Elementary is currently accepting applications for those entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2023.  Applications are due January 13, 2023.
