Good morning Doss Families- 

Tomorrow there is no school for students as it is parent-teacher conference day. Make sure you have signed up for a conference with your child’s teacher.  Doss teachers look forward to sharing how your students are growing and partnering with you for their continued success.

As many of you may have noticed or heard, the cafeteria is offering snacks in the serving line. The only way to purchase a snack is through the School Cafe. www.SchoolCafe.com/AustinISD Through School Cafe, you may limit the days your child purchases a snack as well.

Austin ISD is looking for community members to serve on the Textbook Adoption Committee. In order to serve on the Community Textbook Adoption Committee, the candidate must: 

• Be the parent/legal guardian of one or more children enrolled in Austin ISD schools;
• Not have received any kind of remuneration during the past three years from the publishers of the textbooks being considered for adoption;
• Attend an orientation meeting on Tuesday, November 14 (location TBD) from 5-7 p.m.; further meeting dates and information will be shared at that time.

Austin ISD is hosting a series of Mental Health and School Safety Community Conversations over the next month. Mental Health and School Safety Community Conversations

All are invited to a Doss Parent Education session on September 27 at 8am in the Doss Community Room.  Topic is Raising Children in a Tech Generation / How Families Can Help Kids Thrive in a Hyper-Connected World. 

Devices have been distributed and assigned to teachers or students. As we shared earlier this semester, fees will be assessed for lost, broken, damaged devices. Below are the fees.

• Cracked Screen = $215
• Damaged Keyboard = $80
• Destroyed or Lost Device = $500
• Water Damage = Keyboard and screen replacement $287
• Additional/Miscellaneous Damage = varies from $20-200
• Destroyed or Lost Charger = $30 (or student replaces)
