Principal Sheridan Newsletter 10/29/23

Good morning Doss Families –

There are a lot of exciting things happening around Doss this week, starting with the HOWL.

Today is the Doss HOWL from 2-5pm.  The HOWL is a wonderful Doss tradition that brings the community together and creates lasting memories. I hope to see you all there!

Halloween is Tuesday, and we do not allow students to wear costumes to school, except for PreK and Kinder, because they have a Book Character Parade on Tuesday at 8am.  Please refer to your student’s teacher for guidance and more information.

A friendly reminder: the Green Team will collect candy wrappers in the designated “Trash or Treasure” boxes at the front of the school from the day of the H’Owl to Nov. 3rd. You can read more about “How it Works” here: https://www.rubicon.com/trash-or-treasure/how-it-works/.

This month’s Parent Principal Coffee is Thursday, November 2nd, at 8am.  Ms. Mydra and I will share information about the Human Sexuality and Responsiblity curriculum.  The HS&R lessons will be taught the week of December 11-15.

Hootie Goes West, Doss’s annual book fair, opens Friday, November 3rd, and runs through Friday, November 10th.

We would like to invite family members and friends to join their students for Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday, November 16th, during your student’s lunchtime.  The meal will include turkey and gravy or lentil chili Frito pie, whole wheat dinner rolls, apples, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, and berry cherry crisp. Guest lunch costs $5.  Guests must pay in advance using this LINK or come to the office with cash by Friday, November 3rd.

Have a wonderful week,
Principal Sheridan
