Principal Sheridan Newsletter 2/4/24

Good morning Doss Families –

With an abundance of Doss Pride, I’d like to announce our Teacher of the Year and Teacher of Promise. Doss Teacher of the Year is Ms. Mi-Ae Lee and Doss Teacher of Promise is Ms. Regalado. Congratulations to them both!

Friday, February 9th is a student holiday and spring parent-teacher conference day. Spring conferences are not mandatory for all. Teachers have reached out and scheduled conferences and/or shared student updates with you.

This week is School Counselor Week, Feb. 5-9. Ms. Mydra and Ms. Perez do an amazing job supporting our students and staff. Show them some love by writing a personal note or submitting a Rave (Recognizing All Valuable Employees) for their dedication to Doss.

Friendly reminder that students are to walk their bikes and scooters on campus sidewalks. Last week there were a couple of close calls when students were riding on the sidewalk and another student was getting out of a car and/or walking toward the building.

Update regarding attendance Robocalls: Attendance notifications are generated by an automated system. But every attendance note/email is manually entered; therefore, attendance changes will not appear immediately in the Parent Portal – Frontline Self-Serve. So if you know you have turned in an attendance notice, feel free to disregard any automated communication OR use it as a reminder to send in a note if you haven’t.

Voting Resources from AISD: See below this letter for some information from the district on upcoming primaries that we hope helps create a culture of voting in our area.

Have a great week –

Principal Sheridan
